    IBEW Local 648 Members, Hamilton Ohio, Providing Volunteer Manpower for The Miracle League Fields Project
     

     

    For the last five years plans have been taking shape and funding has been accumulating for the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields part of the Joe Nuxhall Character Education Fund. There are approximately 200 Handicap Baseball Leagues across the United States that give Handicap Adults and Youth the opportunity to play sports at specially designed facilities. When Miracle League Fields are completed southwest Ohio will have one of the premier facilities in the nation with two fields. Ground was broken December 28, 2011 on property donated by the city of Fairfield Ohio, materials are being supplied by numerous local companies and volunteer workers from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 648 Hamilton Ohio, The Operating Engineers IUOE Local 18, and The Laborers Local 534 have the project on track for a June 10th ribbon cutting celebration and an Opening Day game scheduled to be played on July 28th. IBEW Local 648 Electricians have already installed approximately 9000 feet of conduit and there will be close to five miles of electric cabling at the end of project completion. Lighting for the facility will be LED and is being donated by LSI Lighting, a nine by fifteen foot LED Video and Scoreboard will provide Stats and Camera Shots for both fields.
