The Local 648 Golf League will start mid to late April and we are now taking sign-ups. Please call the union hall and sign your team up or we will partner you with someone. We play at Fairfield Golf Course on Monday nights with tee times starting around 4:30. We have a great time and hope to add more teams this year. Call the Hall and reserve your spot  863-6515.

IBEW Local 648 mourns the loss of Brother Ray Retherford. Brother Retherford passed away on January 15th, 2010. Ray was a member of Local 648 for over 60 years being initiated on November 1st, 1948. Ray was always a very active member of the Local serving as our chaplain for many years at IBEW services for our deceased members. Brother Ray will be sadly missed by all the Brothers and Sisters of Local 648. May God Bless Brother Ray, his family, and many friends. IBEW Services will be held on Friday January 22nd, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Webster Funeral Home. The address is 3080 Homeward Way, Fairfield, Ohio. 

IBEW Local 648 mourns the loss of Brother Henry George. Brother George passed away on January 7th, 2010. Henry was a longtime member of Local 648 and was initiated into the IBEW on October 8th, 1952. Brother George and his family were always a very active part of Local 648 and the Brothers and Sisters of Local 648 have lost a very dear friend. IBEW Services for Brother George will be Monday January 11th, 2010 at the Zettler Funeral Home on Pleasant Ave. in Lindenwald. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm with IBEW Services at 7 pm.   May God Bless Brother George, his family, and friends.  

The information packet that needs to be filled out and returned to our lawyer is now available at the Local Union. You must fill out this information and return it to the lawyer by February 24th 2010. The information packet will cover the Local 648 member only. Your spouse must fill out a seperate packet for them. This service is free of charge for the Local member and their spouse. Ryan Hymore from Mangano Law Offices will be at the Union Hall on March 3, 2010 at 4:00 pm to meet with the members and their spouse to sign the will. If your spouse fills out a will they must come with the member on March 3rd. This is a union meeting night and we need an idea of the number of people planning to particapate. Remember information packets must be returned to the lawyer so he can have your will ready for March 3rd.

IBEW Local 648 mourns the loss of Brother Stephen Evanchyk who passed away on December 25th, 2009. Steve was initiated into Local 648 on May 1st, 1995. Steve was a great asset to Local 648 and a very important part of every jobsite he was ever on. The Brothers and Sisters of Local 648 have truly lost a great brother. May God Bless Steve, his family, and all his friends.
